Tamires de Freitas Barros
Junior Technical Sales Representative | Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil | 3 years

For Tamires de Freitas Barros, a career at Wellbore Integrity Solutions (WIS) has been built on continuous learning, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.Based in Macaé, Brazil, Tamires joined WIS more than three years ago as an intern and has since built a career spanning technical sales, engineering, and commercial roles.

From the start, she was eager to learn and expand her skills. What began with data analysis and organizational support gradually evolved into opportunities to work more closely with commercial operations, client relationships, and the technical solutions WIS provides.

Looking back, Tamires is proud of the diverse experiences that have shaped her career.Over the years, she progressed from Sales Intern supporting the Latin America team to roles including Commercial Assistant, Engineering Assistant, Junior Engineer, and ultimately Junior Technical Sales Representative. Each step provided a new perspective on the business and helped her develop both technically and professionally.

“I believe my growth is closely tied to my willingness to learn and adapt.”

Today, Tamires works within the Commercial Area, preparing proposals, supporting client interactions, and helping ensure that WIS solutions align with customer needs. She also serves as a focal point for the Centrix™ system, supporting implementation efforts and collaborating with both customers and internal teams. The variety of responsibilities is one of the aspects she enjoys most about her role.

She credits much of her growth to WIS’s commitment to employee development. While the opportunity for professional growth initially attracted her to the company, what has kept her here is seeing that commitment put into practice through new challenges, career opportunities, and support from leaders and colleagues.

The company culture is another reason Tamires values her experience at WIS. She highlights the collaborative environment, continuous learning opportunities, and the encouragement employees receive to explore different career paths within the organization. She believes the company provides genuine support for those who want to expand their skills and gain experience across multiple areas of the business.

“What keeps me here is seeing, in practice, that the company truly invests in people and believes in each employee’s potential to grow.”

Tamires describes her team as highly collaborative and supportive, with colleagues who readily share knowledge and help one another succeed. That culture of teamwork, combined with the opportunity to continually learn and take on new challenges, is what motivates her every day.

When reflecting on her proudest accomplishment, Tamires points not to a single project but to the journey itself. The opportunity to work across data analysis, commercial, and engineering functions has given her a well-rounded understanding of the business and allowed her to contribute in meaningful ways across multiple disciplines.

For anyone considering a career with WIS, her advice is simple:

“Be open to learning and new challenges.”

She believes WIS is a place where employees can grow significantly if they are willing to step outside their comfort zones, embrace new opportunities, and take advantage of the experiences available to them.

Adam Morris
Operations Supervisor | Aberdeen | 12 years

For Adam Morris, career growth has never been about following a predetermined path. After completing a four-year welding apprenticeship with an oil and gas company, he spent a year gaining hands-on experience before pursuing new opportunities. That journey led him to SLB in 2014 and ultimately to Wellbore Integrity Solutions, where he has spent more than 12 years building his career, developing new skills, and taking on increasingly greater responsibilities.

Today, Adam serves as an Operations Supervisor in Aberdeen, overseeing daily operations and helping ensure WIS delivers safe, efficient, and high-quality service to customers. His role involves coordinating with offshore and onshore personnel, supporting both internal and external stakeholders, managing customer relationships, and leading his team through the successful execution of operations.

One of the aspects Adam enjoys most about his role is the variety. No two days look the same.Depending on the priorities of the day, he may be supporting offshore operations, collaborating with customers, contributing to commercial discussions, or helping coordinate operational activities.

“The diverse nature of the work allows me to continually learn while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the business.”

Adam’s path into operations leadership was shaped by a clear goal early in his career: working offshore.Determined to achieve that ambition, he invested in his development by completing an HND qualification in 2019. He later secured an internal Junior Operations Supervisor position with WIS, where he spent the next four years gaining valuable experience both in the office and offshore before being promoted to Operations Supervisor in 2025.

Looking back on his professional growth, Adam points to the confidence and experience he gained through working closely with customers, offshore supervisors, and operational teams. These opportunities strengthened his communication skills, broadened his operational knowledge, and prepared him to take on greater leadership responsibilities.

What has kept Adam at WIS comes down to the opportunities available across the business and the ability to continuously develop his skills.

“Because WIS is relatively small, we get the opportunity to work ona broader spectrum and have the opportunity to work end-to-end jobs.”

Rather than focusing on a single area, Adam has had opportunities to contribute to sales activities, commercial discussions, tender support, customer relationships, and operational execution. This broad exposure has enabled him to develop a deeper understanding of the business while continuously expanding his capabilities.

When he talks about what stands out most about WIS, Adam consistently points to the people. He describes the team as supportive, collaborative, and committed to helping one another succeed. He believes the culture creates an environment where employees feel comfortable asking questions, sharing knowledge, and tackling challenges together.

“Everyone pulls together. Whether we’re dealing with a challenge or celebrating a job well done, there’s a real sense of teamwork and support.”

Adam also believes one of the company’s most unique qualities is how approachable everyone is, regardless of role or experience level. The willingness to support one another and share knowledge creates an environment where employees can learn, grow, and succeed together.

Adam is motivated by the challenge of the work and the opportunity to keep learning. Every new project presents fresh opportunities to gain experience, solve problems, and build on his capabilities. One accomplishment he is particularly proud of was helping successfully complete a whipstock operation offshore after two previous providers had been unsuccessful. For Adam, the achievement demonstrated the technical expertise, determination, and teamwork that define success at WIS.

For anyone considering a career with WIS, Adam’s advice is straightforward:

“Take the leap, it was well worth it for me.”

While he acknowledges that the work can be challenging, he believes the rewards far outweigh those challenges. Adam believes WIS offers a unique combination of opportunity, variety, and support, allowing employees to continuously learn, develop, and build a fulfilling career alongside a team committed to each other’s success.

Martin Velasco
LAN Technical Support Engineer | Ecuador & Colombia | 4 years

For Martin Velasco, engineering has always been about solving problems and finding new ways to make things better. As a LAN Technical Support Engineer supporting operations across Ecuador and Colombia, he helps tackle complex technical challenges, evaluate new technologies, and provide support to teams in both the field and the workshop. For someone who has always been driven by curiosity and innovation, it is a role that feels like a natural fit.

Martin’s responsibilities span a wide range of technical activities, including BHA design, fatigue analysis, failure investigations, and root cause analysis. As the engineering focal point for the LAN region, he collaborates closely with operations teams and customers to develop solutions that improve performance and reliability.

“It requires a precise and unique way of treating a problem that can create a massive impact on our customers and team members.”

One of the aspects Martin enjoys most about his role is the variety. No two days look the same. Depending on the challenge at hand, he may be working with field teams, supporting workshop activities, or visiting customer locations. The constant opportunity to solve problems and develop solutions is what keeps the work both engaging and rewarding.

Martin’s path into the industry began with an unexpected opportunity. Early in his career, he participated in a failure analysis project and helped identify the root cause of a service quality event involving a tool he had never encountered before. His work caught the attention of an Operations Coordinator, who encouraged him to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry.

Looking back, Martin describes his journey at WIS as a career filled with learning experiences, challenges, and opportunities. Working across different countries and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds has helped him gain a deeper understanding of both the industry and the business.

When asked about his professional growth, Martin is quick to credit the people around him. He has learned from colleagues across the organization, including welders, lathe operators, inspectors, fishing tools specialists, Technical Managers and fellow engineers. Those experiences have given him a broad perspective and reinforced the importance of collaboration and continuous learning.

What initially attracted Martin to WIS was the technical nature of the work and the opportunity to solve complex challenges. What has kept him here is the trust and autonomy he has received from his leaders, allowing him to approach problems creatively and continue developing new ideas.

“My leader has given me freedom to work and act, so creativity, innovation, and peace come from feeling trusted.”

When he talks about what stands out most about WIS, Martin consistently points to the people. He describes the LAN team as energetic, curious, and collaborative, with a shared willingness to learn from one another and support each other’s success. He also believes one of the most unique aspects of the company’s culture is the readiness of people to help without hesitation, creating an environment where employees feel empowered to grow and take on new challenges.

Martin is motivated by a simple goal: to be better than he was the day before. He has always dreamed of being an inventor, and he sees WIS as a place where that ambition can become reality. That mindset has contributed to some remarkable accomplishments, including being part of the team that executed the first ProMILL Duosystem operation in the Western Hemisphere and the first team worldwide to successfully use a section mill powered by a mud motor to mill a window—an application that had never been performed before.

For anyone considering a career at WIS, Martin’s advice is straightforward:

“It is an amazing company; it will give you a chance to enhance your knowledge and become better.”

He believes WIS combines freedom, teamwork, and innovation in a way that allows employees to continually develop both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact on the business and its customers.
